DRS™
The industry standard for restoration, DRS™ provides a variety of tools to tackle the simplest to the most complex restoration problems.
Scratch Tool
'One Step' UI makes scratch removal a breeze - The AutoFind feature assists the artist in identifying scratch boundaries and graphical representations of each channel help users make the right fix.
AutoFilter - With 3-Layer Dirt Detection
Preset parameters enable automated processing, with little or no artist intervention, for automatic detection and removal of dirt and dust artifacts found on the surface or photographed into a film element.
Paint Tool -
With Reveal, Clone, Color and Paint Original Values modes and a variety of customizable brushes, the Paint tool allows for complete control over manual fixes.
3 Layer registration
Manual and Automatic alignment and dewarping of individual layers from 3 Layer Separation material. Fixes warping due to poor storage conditions or transfer issues.
Flicker Correction
Apply temporal and spatial correction of density and color flicker and flare. Choose from an automated fix or select a reference frame for perfect matching.
Dewarp
Reshape film frames to correct geometric distortions. Repairs warped, stretched and squeezed images caused by splice bumps and physical film deformations.
Stabilization
Stabilize mechanically or electronically induced film judder. Now with improved tracking and handling of camera motion with automatic edge replacement.
Noise and Grain Reduction
Reduce film grain and electronic noise from full frames or areas defined by operator specified mask.
Image Filter
Soften (blur) or sharpen (aperture correction) images with this filtering tool, adjusting the image intensity selectively across each frame.
Alpha Filter
Utilize DPX Alpha Channel to automate detection and correction of defects.
VTR I/O
Fully integrated transport and edit control of DVTRs and DDRs including 4:4:4 HD RGB.
New in Correct DRS™ v10
See our What's New Guide for in-depth information.
New PixelStax™ – Portable, Frame-Based History – An updated history architecture makes it easy to back up, move and share fix history. Great for sharing work among artists of different skill levels or in different locations, giving expert DRS Artists and QC staff full control throughout the life of the project. Also simplifies the archive & restore process if you need to move a project offline and revisit it in the future.
AutoFilter Region of Interest - Quickly preview and apply AutoFilter fixes to a specific region of a frame.
Magnifying Loupe – Keep an eye on the full frame while magnifying a local area around a defect for ideal results.
Image Prefetch - Make work in 4k just as responsive as in 2k! Harness the power and extended memory of 64-bit OS for faster performance in any resolution.
Playback Cache - Smoother fix preview and review for even higher quality fixes.
Paint Improvements – The Paint Tool continues to evolve and grow, with v10 including improved macro and repeat stroke features to automate precision fixes across multiple frames.
Improved Timeline – Visually improved timeline to help users better navigate longer clips.
Improved Dewarp & Stabilization Tracking Management – Improved logic to save and discard tracking points and tracking data when moving marks within a scene or changing scenes, saving users mouse clicks and time so they can focus on the real work at hand.
