CORTEX MTai Features

MTai Slate Detect

MTai SlateDetect enhances CORTEX Dailies and Enterprise by automatically detecting the slate in a closed position, streamlining sound sync confirmation and dailies-to-editorial workflows. Leveraging AI-powered automation, MTai SlateDetect ensures accuracy and efficiency, reducing manual intervention. With new features like Avid bin creation and Avid media SubClipping, CORTEX further accelerates editorial deliveries, making it the ideal solution for fast turnaround dailies. By integrating these advanced tools, CORTEX simplifies editorial prep, enhances workflow automation, and delivers unparalleled efficiency for production and post teams. Experience the future of dailies processing with MTai SlateDetect.

Workflow Action for Visual Effects Turnovers

CORTEX V7.0 features a new Workflow Action that simplifies the entire VFX pull process. Simply drag and drop your pull list (EDL) with CDL info, date and timecode plus the Master OCN files onto the CORTEX icon and execute the workflow action. CORTEX builds a local project database, imports the shots and initiates a traceback on the files. The selects that match 100% are assembled into a bin and shots that require match identification are flagged and presented for confirmation. Once confirmed, the operator can execute the VFX pulls and CORTEX builds a composition timeline for shot review and approval. Render any deliverables with EXR and Photo JPEG reference as standard deliverables.

MTai DeadPixel and Cosmic Ray Detection and Correction

MTI Film, LLC is a recognized leader in developing cutting-edge image processing solutions for post-production. Over the years, we’ve pioneered and patented technology for automatic defective pixel detection in motion picture content. Specifically, our work is protected under U.S. Patent Nos. 10,229,481 and 10,467,731, both titled “Automatic Defective Digital Motion Picture Pixel Detection.”  Our patented system uses a novel approach to evaluate error and motion at each pixel, generating a metric that identifies defective pixels. This method has been successfully integrated into our CORTEX product line and approved by Netflix for use in dailies workflows. In Version 7.0, the QA module is enhanced with AI Cosmic Ray detection and correction.

MTai FrameConvert and NOVA Paint

MTI Film’s MTai FrameConvert leverages generative AI to create new frames, ensuring smoother and more natural transitions between frames when converting frame rates. Now supporting TensorRT in Version 7.0 for faster renders. Unlike traditional methods, which drop or duplicate frames and can result in choppy or unnatural motion, generative AI synthesizes intermediate frames that maintain the original content’s fluidity and visual integrity. This approach minimizes artifacts and motion inconsistencies, offering a higher-quality viewing experience. By preserving the original scene’s temporal coherence, MTai enhances visual fidelity, making it especially valuable for high-definition and high-frame-rate content, such as in cinematic productions and broadcast media. Proven on multiple cinematic releases. When AI is confused and creates artifacts at a cut point or with high motion lateral effects, NOVA Paint in CORTEX or DRS™Nova, can fix these AI artifacts and provide a high quality frame converted asset.
