MTI FILM Showcases Euro Friendly Control Dailies Workflow at IBC

Hollywood, CA - August 16, 2006 — MTI Film will unveil Version 4 of its successful Control Dailies system at the 2006 IBC show in Amsterdam. This latest version includes many enhancements which include popular aspect ratio matte overlays for SD streams, Full Reel ingest for maintaining a continuous synchronization relationship between a film reel and videotape target, new audio post syncing techniques, VTR ingest from HD sources, and a newly structured database file that increases the speed of creating, loading, and closing Scanlists by a factor of 2x. MTI Film has targeted IBC as the venue for presenting its powerful concurrent dailies workflow to the European market. "We're excited about the opportunity IBC will afford MTI Film to debut workflows more conducive to European practices. As Europe takes on the additional requirements of HD delivery, Control Dailies can make the transition easier and comprehensive", says Linda White, MTI Film's Director of Sales.

MTI Film will also be debuting CONVEY. CONVEY is a companion application providing file based deliverables from media ingested by the Control Dailies system. CONVEY is designed to provide multiple format file deliveries facilitating automated, fully authored DVD deliveries. Future file formats will include MXF, DnxHD, Windows Media 9, and AVI.

Also being shown for the first time at IBC is the newly developed 2K version, which debuted at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. Control Dailies 2K provides for generation and resizing of DPX 2K files to HD and SD and will feature Control COLOR, a fully integrated primary color corrector with built-in Still Store co-developed with Silicon Color, creators of Final Touch. "We believe we have conceived the perfect workflow for DI dailies", says MTI CEO Larry Chernoff, "and based upon conversations we've had in the film community, there seems to be wide agreement."

Whether working from film, 2K DPX files, or digitally acquired media Control Dailies is an image and audio control environment that accelerates the delivery of motion picture dailies, facilitating faster than real-time image transfer and audio ingest, complete metadata collection, post synchronization in SD and HD resolutions, and output to various deliverables.
