At NAB 2013, MTI Film will unveil its newly-repackaged and expanded line of Cortex dailies processing and transcoding solutions. Seen for the first time will be two new editions of Cortex::Control Dailies, one of which is a free Starter Edition with all-in-one features for playback, color, synchronization and transcoding.
MTI Film will be exhibiting at Booth SL15510.
“In response to numerous requests from current users and the production community as a whole, we are broadening our Cortex line to provide increased options for users of all types,” said MTI Film David McClure. “Our aim is to make the process of capturing, managing and delivering digital media quick, easy and available at every point in the production and post-production chain.”
Available as a free download, Cortex::Control Dailies, Starter Edition is one of five editions of Cortex::Control Dailies. Designed for users seeking basic dailies processing features, it is capable of transcoding most royalty-free camera codecs (RED, ProRes, ARRIRAW, Sony) to QuickTime and Photo-JPEG at resolutions up to 1920x1080.
Also new is Cortex::Control Dailies DP, a low-cost package designed for cinematographers that includes all of the features of the Starter Edition while adding decoding of MPEG2, H.264, DVCPro HD and Avid MXF, and encoding to H.264.
Other Cortex:: Control Dailies Editions include Pro, which adds encoding to DNxHD and ProRes; Studio, which adds encoding to DPX, OpenEXR MPEG2 and DVD; and Ultimate, which adds encoding to Blu-ray and JPEG2000 along with support for multiple GUIs. The Studio and Ultimate Editions also add output to any resolution.
MTI Film will also be demonstrating five editions of its standalone transcoding application Cortex::Convey. They include a free Starter Edition, as well as Web, Pro, Studio and Ultimate with support for varying input and output formats, and resolutions.
Additionally, MTI Film will introduce several other Cortex enhancements and features. They include:
