ARRI Archive Workshop brings industry together

ARRI has hosted its first major workshop on the rapidly growing market for archive and restoration technologies. The two-day event at the company’s headquarters in Munich attracted more than 80 attendees from a diverse range of backgrounds and companies, including four national film archives, post houses, broadcasters and manufacturers.

Leading restoration software companies demonstrated their latest products, all of which facilitate digital repairs to damaged film materials. These included Phoenix and DVO from Digital Vision, DaVinci Revival from Blackmagic, Correct from MTI and Diamant from HS-ART. ARRI also presented its new and unique range of ARRISCAN archive tools, as well as the ARRILASER film recorder and RELATIVITY software.

Ones and Zeros Enters South American Restoration Market with Correct DRS™

Ones and Zeros has recently put Peru on the map as a center for film restoration, with the acquisition of the Correct DRS™ restoration system and plans to expand to a 10-seat facility. Founder Hugo Pallete wanted to move the company in this direction because he saw that libraries, archives and new productions throughout the Americas continue to look for low-cost, high-skilled workforces to complete large restoration products, but they had very few options in South America.

At the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters Convention, MTI Film will debut a new option for its award-winning Control Dailies solution. The DA Head module for Control Dailies enables the faster-than-real-time power of Control Dailies to facilitate the processing of digitally-acquired dailies from virtually any source. Control Dailies for Digital Acquisition (DA) supports Red One, Panasonic P2, Panavision Genesis, Viper FilmStream and Arri D-21 digital cinema cameras, as well as media in DPX file format.
